Don L. Althoff
President and Chief Executive
Don Althoff is a senior business executive with a proven track record of delivering results across a range of energy businesses within a “Fortune 25” company. He has deep knowledge of the fuels supply chain marketplace, including manufacturing, pipeline, terminal, trading and retail sales. Most recently, Don was Chief Executive Officer of Flex Fuels US LLC. He was also with BP PLC and Amoco Corporation for 27 years. He brings to Veresen extensive operating expertise and his leadership will be instrumental in Veresen’s future growth.
Don holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Illinois, has completed financial management studies at Indiana University, and management programs at Stanford and Harvard universities.
Senior Vice President, Finance
and Chief Financial Officer
Theresa Jang is a senior finance professional with over 25 years of experience in the energy industry. Since joining Veresen in 2006, Theresa has held a number of senior leadership roles in Finance, Risk Management, and Controllership. Since her appointment as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer in 2014, Theresa has led the raising of over $4 billion in capital to fund Veresen’s transformative growth initiatives. In addition to overseeing all capital markets activities, Theresa is responsible for accounting and financial reporting, taxation, treasury, risk management, investor relations and corporate planning. Prior to joining Veresen, Theresa worked with TransCanada Corp. for 16 years where she held a variety of progressively more senior roles within accounting and financial reporting.
Theresa holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and a Chartered Accountant designation.
Kevan S. King
Senior Vice President,
Kevan King graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary, having previously obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta. For most of his career, Kevan has worked as in-house counsel with companies in the oil and gas sector. From 1984 to 1988, he worked with Asamera Inc., an international oil and gas and mining company, and from 1988 to 2000 with Poco Petroleums Ltd., a senior Canadian oil and gas company.
Kevan joined Veresen in 2004 after maintaining an independent law practice for several years. Kevan has served as a director and officer of a number of public and private entities, as well as industry and legal associations.

Business Joint Ventures
Darren Marine is a senior energy professional with over 23 years of experience in midstream, producer services, transportation, marketing and trading of natural gas, liquids and electricity. Darren is highly experienced in commercial business development and business ventures related to natural gas, pipelines and facilities, with a proven track record to lead a multi-disciplinary organization at the senior leadership/executive level.
Prior to joining Veresen, Darren was President of SemCAMS ULC where he was responsible for all aspects of its sweet and sour natural gas gathering, compression and processing infrastructure. Darren was also Vice President of Dynegy Canada’s marketing and trading operations and spent three years with Koch Gas Marketing.
Darren earned his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas.
Elizabeth (Betsy) Spomer
Executive Vice President,
President & CEO, Jordan Cove LNG
Betsy Spomer joined Jordan Cove LNG as President and Chief Executive Officer in November 2014. Betsy has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, having the majority of her career in the LNG industry. Betsy has extensive experience in commercial activities and developing new growth opportunities. Most recently, Betsy was Senior Vice President, Global Business Development with BG Group PLC where she spent the last 12 years. Betsy has also held senior leadership positions with BP and Amoco. Over Betsy’s career, she has been involved in LNG projects worldwide, including LNG export projects in Trinidad and Tobago, Egypt, Australia, Western Canada and the United States Gulf of Mexico and LNG import projects in the United States, China, Singapore and Chile.
Betsy holds an MBA with a concentration in International Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from the University of Colorado.
Human Resources and Administration
Pamela (Pam) Ramotowski is responsible for all people strategies and practices including recruitment and retention, learning and development, compensation and benefits, organizational effectiveness and employee relations. Pam brings over 17 years of experience in human resources management and has held a number of senior positions at prominent energy, agricultural and technology companies. Prior to joining Veresen in 2014, Pam led the human resources function for a global technology company.
Pam holds a Bachelor of Management in Accounting and an MBA with a concentration in Management of Organizations and Human Resources. She also holds a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
